Oil Spill Containment Valve
Economic PVC Oil Spill Prevention
In businesses and factories throughout the world, solutions to stop oil spills are high priorities. Even the weakest containment protection system can cost an enormous amount to implement and even more when it fails. GEI Works offers the PVC oil spill containment valve to take care of both issues.
This oil stop valve keeps spills from spreading before they start. As the only moving part of the system, the ballasted float seals to the drain as oil enters the pipe. No power is required as gravity does all the work, causing the float to lose its buoyancy and settle in place. Manual reopening is required once clean up is finished, but an optional automated slave valve is available.
The oil spill containment valve sits in an existing catch basin or oil water separator as part of an oil containment system. Available with 4", 6", and 8" discharge pipes, the corrosion-resistant PVC model is most economical choice and preferred for warmer climates.
For areas with fire risks or cold climates, the Stainless Steel Oil Spill Containment Valve may be the better option.

Oil Spill Containment Valve Additional Options
To ensure a perfect fit for any facility, GEI Works offers a variety of customizable options for the oil stop valve.
Slave Valve – If the oil spill containment valve is in a hard-to-reach area, the slave valve allows for automated reset after the float has closed. Once water is back in the system, the slave valve opens again, causing the float to unseal and restart drainage. This is a particular recommendation for areas with evaporation problems causing a lack of water.
Freeze Protection Package – When using the PVC containment valve in a cold or diverse climate systems, the freeze protection package is great insurance. A flanged immersion heater bolts directly to the tank. Temperature is controlled with a thermostat, offering exact readings and adjustments.
Water/Oil Level Switch – Knowing when an overflow is about to happen can mean the difference in small, easily contained spill and a large, out-of-control spill. The level switch connects to alarm and control overflow systems to alert users appropriately.
