Oil Spill Microbes
Oil Eating Bacteria for Sale
Oil spill microbes offer an easy and environmentally friendly way to dispose of oil and other hydrocarbons. Available as shakers, bags, and booms, these oil microbes use a process of accelerated bioremediation to help naturally recycle pollutants and other materials.
During use, microbes are placed in water where hydrocarbons are present and work to eat any oil in the water. After the oil has been consumed, the oil spill microbes remain in the water for an extended period of time until they naturally die off. The remaining water returns to natural concentration levels.
Oil spill microbes have a typical shelf life of up to 5 years when not in use. They are activated naturally through salt water, fresh water, or a food source (oil, fuel, etc.), making them immediately effective once placed in water. Once activated, oil microbes typically work for approximately 90 days.

Microbe shakers are sealable plastic containers that store the oil spill microbes until they are ready for use. A bentonite clay powder keeps the storage area moist, so the microbes don't die. Shakers are available in either a 6 oz. or 28 oz. container to address small or large spills. Due to their easy storage and versatile use, the oil microbes can be used in drains, marinas, tanks, and other spill or hydrocarbon collection locations.
Water-soluble microbe packets are the perfect option for small oil clean up requirements. Contained in a compact, biodegradable material, these microbe packets are placed directly into storm drain basins, sumps, or other small collection areas to address present hydrocarbons. When the packet meets the water, the exterior wrapping dissolves, releasing the oil spill microbes.
The microbe bags are an easy way to address large oil spills, frequently contaminated areas, or refill smaller on-site shakers. Offered as a 25 pound bag, the oil spill microbes clean up oil spills and deliver effective bioremediation for open waters, ports, fueling stations, and other areas with large clean up requirements. During use, microbes go directly in to water where hydrocarbons are present and work to eat the oil. Microbe bags come with bentonite clay powder to keep the storage area viable.
The oil spill microbe boom is a floating option designed to effectively absorb and dispose of oil. Similar to microbe shakers and bags, the booms feature treated polyethylene foam that absorbs oil and releases microbes. Several microbe tablets are within each polyethylene boom. As the boom is in the water, the tablets slowly dissolve until the oil spill microbes are released. Due to the floating exterior and easy use, the booms are a great option for drain catch basins, collection sumps, and other containment areas with hydrocarbons. A natural product, microbes clean up oil spills, grease, and other hydrocarbons present in the water.
